I have found my Bose clock radio a big improvement on the old alarm clock. I set two alarms - the first plays music, and the second is set about 10 minutes later with the buzzer. This allows me to wake up slowly, and often I'm awake before the buzzer. The beat thing is that rather than turn on at the previously set volume, it starts at 0 and slowly increases the volume (radio & buzzer). This avoids the sudden shock of the alarm.
Sleep Hacks suggest you shouldn't use alarm clock. Smart app will only wake you when it detects you near the end of your sleeping. Good quality sleep a night gives you a good quality work and mode during whole day.
BTW, give f.lux a try. I have installed it on my Mac, PC and Android. Already found it's better to my eyes, especially when I stare at monitor at night.
+Terrence Miao sorry, I would be very uncomfortable with that. I am very specific with when I leave home so as to catch the right train. A 30-minute period is far too wide. I would then be forced to rush and panic about things.
If I need more rest, that's what the train ride is for ;)
