There seems to be two conflicting messages getting out in the mainstream media regarding the countries ability to grow and distribute food.

Obviously there are lots of moving parts and thus a lot of complexity in the systems under analysis, but I'm concerned about mutually exclusive viewpoints causing more confusion.
