The End of Newspaper? Welcome Newsdigit!

Since start of year 2012, I have subscribed digital edition of TheAge and The Australian. Currently, I'm on two months trail of Herald "Horny" Sun, which I reckon it's a total rubbish, although it's thoroughly absorbing, not a bad substitution for toilet paper and, it's entertaining.

I still like traditional newspaper, easily to read and digest, tons of information in a large size A0 paper. However, time is changing. More and more people looking for information online, accelerating the disappearing of the newspaper. The cost saving and environment friendly by sending digital pulse via electricity wire change everyone's life dramatically and forever.

Is it good old time no more? Or someone needs to shout out: "Shut up whinging loser"?

Will journalism quality keep up after turn off newspaper printing factory?

One could argue about the quality of journalism today even in print.

Never say die. In the 1920s the fax machine was hailed as the printed newspaper slayer. It obviously wasn't. In the 1990s the web was hailed as the slayer. 20 years later and my neighbours are still getting their papers delivered to the doorstep (well, driveway.) It may well be that the convenience and combination of electronic distribution and e-readers is what will finally gets newspapers going digital.

I think when it comes to electronic/online, there are actually a somewhat better quality sources these days, more "real journalism" and analytical then what the 'old mainstream media has become'... also even the 'mainstream' ones often have more interesting and honest articles on their website - in authors blogs usually, than it would ever get printed in paper edition...
