btw, Germany is a good example how a country with rather seriously expensive labour force can still make cars, washing machines, tooth paste, soap and few other consumer goods... IMHO that is the only country (other than "PRC" ;) that is still producing and exporting a somewhat larger spectrum of consumer goods...
