(IBM is definitely eyeing and looking forward for its big share ;-)
but also my 'prediction' is that it all (except maybe #1) will also be largely abused by marketers, ad agencies, spammers, scammers, totalitarian regimes, "nanny state" governments, paranoid security procedures, etc etc

it starts with then current hyper hype around "web service" (yes, the that very UDDI crap ;), but then goes to RFID-like tags on each apple, egg and milk bottle in the fridge auto-reordering themselves via internet, but then goes even wilder than that...
(what I found most amusing when reading is that unlike struggling sci-fi authors those authors were full time employed by BT to come up with such stuff as their day job! ;-)
